01 / The real person is asked

When Mum checks, the person the caller claims to be gets an alert and answers with one tap.

Safe Word alert: Someone is contacting Mum saying they're you. Is that you? Buttons: Yes, it's me and No, it's not me.

02 / A clear answer

They are safe

Dad said it wasn't him, so the call is fake. Mum is told to hang up and send nothing.

Green Safe Word result: Dad is safe. It's fake. Hang up. Don't send anything, don't go anywhere.

03 / Some signs are enough

This is a scam

Some requests give a scam away on their own. The phone shows red at once, without waiting for anyone.

Red Safe Word result: This is a scam. The person at your door isn't who they say they are. Don't open the door. Don't hand anything over. Your Guardians have been told.

What it does

  • One button, a few taps Press “Is it really them?”, say who the caller claims to be and what they want. You never have to type, and you can stay on the call.
  • Asks the real person The relative the caller is pretending to be gets an alert on their own phone and answers “Yes, it's me” or “No, it's not me”.
  • Guardians see every check One or two trusted family members follow each check live. If the relative doesn't answer, a Guardian can reach them and confirm.
  • Four clear results Green: they are safe and the call is fake. Amber: not confirmed yet, so don't pay. Red: this is a scam. Violet: it's really them. No answer never counts as a yes.
  • Knows the scammer's favourite requests Gift cards, crypto, couriers, sharing a code or handing things over at the door turn the result red on the phone itself.
  • A family phrase that stays at home Families agree a phrase to say on real calls. Safe Word never sends it to our servers; an optional reminder stays locked on your own phone.
  • Practice checks Run a clearly labelled practice so everyone knows what to do. Nobody is ever tricked with a fake scam call.
  • Local help Emergency, police and bank-fraud numbers and reporting steps for 16 countries, with general guidance everywhere else.
